I go to a pretty selective city school with 1100+ students and everyone is so... fashion. The atmophere is really nice, but because there is this really fashonist mix of preppy/independent and because the mainstream student strive for 90+ in all classes, the narrowed group adds to the feeling of never really measuring up. The academics I can handle - but all these clothes! What's it like in your schools?

Ahahahaha, I live in a rural place. Half the student body wears country clothing, the other half wears American Eagle, Hollister, all the nice clothes and whatnot. Nice shoes, pants, shirts. So it`s pretty funny like that.
And then there`s like the Goth kids and everything too.

It isn’t.
Kids wear jeans/sweats/leggings/atrocious-looking short skirts and t-shirts/tank tops. That’s about it.

T-shirts is an endangered species… almost. But leather messenger bags and silk blouses and those “unique but fantastic” second-hand (oops, vintage dresses)… Those! Not to mention these skirts: ([American Apparel - Corduroy Circle Skirt](http://store.americanapparel.net/product/index.jsp?productId=rsarc300&c=camel)) !!

I would totally belong to the country clothing part, given the setting!

Pfft at my school, some people are ratcheter than ratchet. Buuut you do have a good amount of people that have style. You mainly see hiphop/street type clothing (think nikes/Jordan’s with the matching hat type wear), hipster (which I fall into…not saying I’m a hipster…) then the people tht wear anything that’s in the stores.

There’s a large population that wears tight skinny jeans with very short tight shirts…with very atrocious weaves and plastic bangles to go with it. It’s…interesting.

Well, hipster is a very useful term! I’m hipster… one day out of three! Use of hipster garmets have to be spread out over time, or my imagniation for cobinations would be worn out:)

I think we’re moving from strictly middle-parting middle-length straight hair to something more… free. Preferably something that doesn’t need much attention…

Can’t relate much to plastic bangles, I’m afraid - but everyone keep their summer musical festival passes for as long as possible and then match them with other weird textile things and berlocks and stuff. That’s half the student body - the other wears brand name clocks.

The kids in my school live in the upper class so they have the luxury of UGGs, North Face, and a new trend I’m starting to see are Patagonia sweaters. Those things are $200!! They also wear designer jeans, and Hollister, Aeropostale, AE and what not. I find it so annoying that the people in my school insist on wearing expensive clothes just because their parents are rich.

Even though we have a uniform, it is still very much one. Scarves, jewellery, stationary and particularly bags all play a part in this ridiculous catwalks show.

Not much of one. We have a few girls who dress up. Some dress to be both comfortable and stylish. Some wear Hollister/Aeropostale/American Eagle tops and jeans. Some wear camo constantly. Most band people wear sweats all the time. That’s about it. There’s nothing special and we call the ones who dress up for school fools.

For the most part guys at my school wear jeans and tshirts. There’s some skinny jean people, some gangster cholo people, and a decent amount of tank top people.

I don’t like wearing pants and wear shorts a lot. I have a lot of plaid shorts and solid tshirts. It just looks simple, and it works.

My friends and I are the ones who dress up, at least in my grade. It’s not even so much as dressing up as it is just wearing nice tops/blouses, dresses, jewelry, and so on. I’ll bum it from time to time as well.

I go to an art school so there is a lot of variety in the clothing people wear. We have everything from the people who wear sweatpants and t-shirts, to girls who only wear dresses to stereotypical hipsters to people who have a more “ghetto” style.

Personally I am an art major so almost all my clothing has at least one paint stain on it, so that sort of lowers the quality of all my clothing. But anyway that aside I usually wear jeans and some random shirt (usually a t-shirt with cardigan or a sweater) or a dress and cardigan.

My school is public, urban, 4000+ we have maybe 1000 kids who put the effort in. Probably 85% of my school are athletes so sweats & Adidas sandals are more common than anything.

My school is pretty rural, so cowboy boots and whatnot are found in abundance. AE, Hollister, and Aeropostale are pretty popular too. There are a few try hards like me but other than that no one really cares about “fashion”

Every guy, and i mean EVERY SINGLE ONE, wears either Am Eagle, Hollister, or Aero; the girls come up with their random styles but about a week later about 10 other girls have the same style, and people wear nothing but chucks, toms, or sperrys, its, its terrifying…

Aaah, this is so fun! I live in Sweden at the moment - There is a Hollister shop here, but not Aeropostale or Am Eagle. H&M is pretty dominant and everyone has something from there (or it makes up 75% of the wardrobe). This shop called Monki is pretty usual, Topshop and Urban Outfitters. It’s getting really cold so knitted stuff is in.

We have to wear uniforms and the rules are pretty strict, like no accessories or fancy shoes at all. Some girls just wear really short dresses and earrings(the only accessory allowed)
