how much of a hook is a legacy at dartmouth?

My dad's a fairly active dartmouth alumni...helps out with local admissions interviews, and has been donating (all though no large sums or anything :-p) every year since graduation.

i'm a junior so i'm not taking satIIs,SATS and APs till a little bit later this year (waiting for new SATs and what not). but i'm top 8% of my class, all honors/AP classes possible since frosh year, with about a 4.1w, 3.7 uw gpa. very good ecs. in a magnet program at my school for students interested in govt/international relations. 1320 on psats but have taken some sat classes and hope to improve. i know i'm not strait A+s or valedictorian or anything, but assuming my SATS continue in the trend of my PSATS, would having the legacy plus applying ed next year give me a little bit of a shot in hell?

i heard legacy depends a lot on geography too...where are you from? but then, of course legacy helps.

nj. nowhere special :-p.

legacy helps, thats how i got in

Helps but apply ED to have a shot. Try to raise the scores too...

I think itll be a MAJOR boost
