I learned both Mandarin and Cantonese at home and speak it at home and I learned both before English so i shouldn’t have to take the test to prove i’m fluent right?

Then should i learn another language? Or is there something else i can do with that time that would be better for my college resume if i intend on going into an engineering major?

Is there a club you can join? Like robotics club or something? I think that would look really good. Plus you already know one of the most sought after languages, which will give you a leg up in your post college life.

.איזה יופי! גם למדתי עברית בבית ספר אבל בבית ספר יהודי
If I learned Hebrew in school, pretty much K-12, will I do well on the SAT2? Scutrules, אתה מפחיד אותי!
And will two years of Spanish (along with some Hispanic heritage) help on apps in addition to the 13 years of Hebrew? שניהם בבדאי אינם כשפת אם שלי!
Sorry about all the Hebrew, non-speakers- I’m just very excited about using my new Hebrew keyboard
(though it’s not working very well…)
And Jonah, you’ve already learned enough languages that you’ll be fine in college apps. If you feel like taking the SAT2, it might be a waste of an afternoon but you’ve got nothing to lose- you may as well, but you don’t NEED to. Spanish SAT2, on the other hand, is worthwhile to take, even if you don’t take Spanish 5.

I don’t know how they’d know you speak it unless you mention it in an essay or something? I was wondering about something too: by the time I graduate, I’ll be in German 8, but my school does not offer AP German (not sure why!!!). Will colleges look down on that? I could try to take the test but since the teacher isn’t teaching to it, I feel like I won’t pass although my German is pretty good…
