How much of a theme is overkill in an application?

Mi intended major is computer science, but my #1 hobby and passion (not career choice though) is music. Naturally, my common app essay is music related, I'm getting a recommendation from my music teacher, and it creeps a little bit into the supplemental essays as well. Is this okay, or will they get bored of reading about it?

It is totally ok for it to creep into the supplemental essay. Schools, especially highly selective ones, are looking for very passionate people and if you are really passionate about something one would expect it to creep into all areas of your life. As long as it’s genuine, it’s not just ok but an excellent idea to show it.
