How much on average do utilities cost?

For PG&E and internet for a two bedroom...

Depends on the internet. We only pay $25 for internet because we are cheap. Other people go for better and more expensive internet. Utilities can be as low as $8 a month depending on how much you use. The highest we got last year was $14 for PG&E.

Alright, thanks!

Usually a special offer like $19.99 a month only lasts for 6 months. The owner of the apartment I lived last year was kind enough to include all the utilities and laundry as part of the rent, but now I am currently paying nearly 50 bucks for water + sewage + garbage for a very-well maintained apartment.

It all varies.

In my 2bd/1ba apartment, my gas + electricity is typically $35/mo. My roommate and I are pretty reasonable about usage; we use CFLs, turn off lights when unnecessary, have the heat set at 65-68, etc.

For internet, I decided to go with a company that provided quality service (sonic.net) and therefore pay $50/mo. It’s a little faster than anything AT&T can provide, but it’s rock solid, I get a static IP, and billing is easy. The unlimited landline has also been nice to have.

However, when I had a roommate that left lights on at night and opened windows while turning the thermostat to 80, the PG&E bill was closer to $80/mo.

+1. My utilities never exceeded $8 in any given month. 2bd/1ba. It was awesome. Really depends on your usage though.
