I'm currently a sophomore and I took a pre-PSAT (I'll be taking the PSAT my junior year in about 6-7 months) and got a 1950. This has freaked me out; I am really scared. Since February, I've been doing one hour of SAT prep a night (Math, Grammar, Reading). If I keep this up all the way until my real PSAT test, will it be enough practice to get me ready to increase my score to 220+?
I haven't taken a practice test to see where I'm at; right now, I'm working through SAT workbooks.

Not everyone can get 220+ in PSAT (or 2200+ in SAT) even after thorough preparation. However, you do have a lot of time to prepare. Just do more practice and go through the answers thoroughly to learn what you have missed. If you are already getting 1950 in SAT practice, you are not far off.

Don’t freak about the PSAT. The fact that you are a sophomore studying for the SAT puts you way ahead of the game. Just practice the test itself and then any topics that you might have trouble with.

I got a 201 on the PSAT and got a 2170 on the real one a few months later, so it isn’t a very great predictor.
