Usually 7-8
Though there are some days i sleep like 2-3 hours then i take a nap during the day.

btw, according to NASA perfect nap should not exceed 26 minutes, just saying lol

I have no minimum or maximum. I find that I am tired no matter how little or much I sleep, so I have chosen to not care anymore. I don’t sleep when I feel I have to, I sleep when I can no longer keep my eyes open after sitting in front of my laptop until midnight.

That being said, this summer, I have been sleeping about 6 hours. Sometimes 7 if I am lucky. During the school year, I average 4-5 hours of sleep.

Woot woot!

It’s funny because I’ve just changed my sleeping habits. Being a junior about to apply to schools with 12 extracurrics, I totally needed to stop getting 9 hours and start buckling down.

What I found (experimentally and through some research) was that even more important than the amount of sleep you get is whether you finish completely through a sleep cycle or not. For all my AP Psych kids out there, you remember that it’s 90 minutes. So, sleeping for 6 hours, 7 and a half, or 9 is the most rejuvenating. This whole 8 hour misconception drives me crazy; it falls right in the middle of a cycle. Being someone who takes a couple hours to fall asleep because my mind runs rampant (as I’m sure it is the case for all of you,) I’ve turned to 6 hours a night, and have never felt better.

Usually I get anywhere from 5-6 hours during the school year, on average. I can operate very poorly on 2, a bit better on 3, and, after several cups of coffee and getting up during class to do things to get the blood flowing, I can function completely on 4. Sometimes I get more sleep, usually at most a 8.

And don’t even talk to me about summer. I’ve completely abandoned any circadian rhythm. I’m up until ~2-3 a.m, sometimes 5, and I sleep until 2-3 p.m. Transitioning back to school is going to suck :)

If you drink enough coffee you will be fine.

During the school year, typically 6-7, but if I have morning swim practice at 4:30 in the morning (which I do three times a week, regrettably), at best I get 4-5.

I need at least 6 hours

I either need less than 3 [Also known as <3, which is purely coincidental] or 7+ hours

I was able to get away with 8 hours a lot my sophomore year. I only did 2 APs though. Next year is 7 D:

^Wow. I was a freshman with no Ap’s

Junior year was really bad for me with 5 hours as the standard and 2 or 3 when tests started kicking in. I have no excuse though, i was in mainly easy classes and had a free period on top of it. I have poor time management skills and alway seem to be able to find a way to become sleep deprived regardless of the actual amount of stuff i have going on.

During summer now i sleep maybe 9 hours or so from maybe five am to 3.

Being too busy to sleep adequately is a serious problem and an indication that something needs to go.

4-5 hours will get me through the school day just fine, but I’ll be begging for a nap by the afternoon.
Usually during summer and weekends ill clock in 11-12 hours of sleep

^Lucky! Even during the summer, I have trouble really sleeping [Like 8+ hours]

I need at least 4 hours to function. :P

I can go 24-36 hours without sleep (Thank you ADHD meds)

I can function (doing bare minimum tasks) with 2 hours of sleep. I can function normally with 3-4. I can’t do this on a regular basis though!

On a regular basis I need 5 to function, 7 to function AND not get urges to kill anyone around me, lol. I would like to get 9 to feel well-rested and so I can function immediately after waking up, but that only happens on weekends. I only get 7 on school nights because I’m a night owl and don’t like going to bed before midnight.

I usually get 8 hours of sleep. I need at least 5 to function properly though.

6 hours of sleep and I’ll wake up groggy. 30 more minutes of walking around attending to basic morning activities and then I’m good to go.
