How much sleep do you need to function?

8-9 hours is what I lean towards when I’m able to sleep to my heart’s content (i.e. summer or the weekend). 5-7 hours is what usually happens during the school year. I could probably squeeze in a bit more, but I’m a crazy night owl who also procrastinates, and society likes to start things too early for me. Sometimes I hit 10 or 11 hours on the weekend just because my weeknight sleep schedule is so messed up.

I usually get 5-6 hours of sleep at night during the school year, but I often take 2 hour naps as soon as I get home

I can survive with 3-4 hours of sleep. Does that mean I like it? Nope.

I prefer 8-10 hours of sleep.

Days before tests: ~4 hours

i get 1-3 hours of sleep per day

On most nights I get around 5-6, which is just right for me. The lowest amount of sleep I’ve gotten before going to school is 3 hours, and I wasn’t even doing homework, lol. On days like that I start zoning out in class, and I yawn a a lot, but I never actually fall asleep.

I never understood how some people can sleep for like 8 hours, that’s just ridiculous to me. Even on the weekend I can usually only sleep max 7 hours.

3-6 hours minimum. I usually crash right after school though and take a 2 hour nap if I only get that much sleep. I’d prefer getting 6-8 but that usually doesn’t happen during the school work.
I’m operating on about 4 right now

I normally get 5-7 during the school week; it really depends on the day. This week, however, I’ve been living it up with such little homework that I’ve been able to get about 8 most nights. Next week will be one in which I will probably get more like 3-5 hours on the weekdays. I think the lowest I’ve had is like 2, but that’s only on project nights. I never stay up for a test, because getting rest is the most important thing I can do to do well on tests.

The weekends are when I catch up on my sleep, so I normally sleep 11-12 hours haha. ;)

It honestly depends. I try to get 5-6 during the week, but even with that I still fall asleep in class a lot. If I get 7-8, I’ll be perfectly fine the next day, but same if I only get 3. It’s weird - too little sleep makes me more alert during the day… I’ve always wondered how people in my class and on CC get by with 3-4 hours of sleep, and I guess that’s how

I got 45 minutes and got through the day. Probably 4 hours, but I would really be look forward to the weekends.
