How much time do you spend on homework?

Yeah, I know this question has probably been posted a couple of million times already, but I couldn't find it via the search.

Anyways, how much time does everyone here spend on hw?

I've been sliding by with about 30 minutes daily (I suppose it isn't very much considering my course load...). However, it seems like this year (junior year) my grades are taking a hit... Previously I was able to get away with finishing my homework in class/during lunch. Now I'm kind of struggling with doing this little work :(.

I'm just wondering what is a good amount of time to spend on homework... My school recommends something like 6 hours a day for someone taking my courseload (5 APs, 1 honors). Haha, yeah right :(...

hmm...honestly probably close to 30 minutes although I should be spending a lot more. Its more than 30 minutes when I have essays to write for Writing Seminar...but thats also because I'm on AIM while trying to write it and never get anything done. I wish I had a laptop so I could sit on my bed ... not have AIM installed and get my work done. Check my Time Management thread...hopefully some people will give good advice.

It depends on the day. Now I'm spending about 4-5 hours a night on work, not homework but coursework. Last year I spent about an hour to 2 hours a night.

scarlet are you a procrastinator? Do you struggle to get work done? Like I can't get myself to do homework unless its math because I like math and it isn't a task...the other ones I usually half-ass the work...I'm afraid this is going to be a problem in college...actually I'll probably be motivated enough to do REALLY well since I fked up in high school, according to my standards...I could've earned a 4.0 but I didn't try as much as I could've. I think if I go to the library at my school right after i'd get a lot more work done...no computers, food, friends..just me, my ipod, and homework. Hmm I don't think I could do that everyday though. I need to get off CC as well...I probably refresh my "control panel" uncountable # of times a day to see if any1 responded to my posts lol...

I spent way too much time on homework this semester. Of course I had a full load (18 hours) and most classes were pretty demanding. Depending on the week, I would spend 2-3 hours on homework each night or sometimes up to 6 hours on homework on some nights of the week. On the weekends, I try to catch up on everything and so that's another 5 or so hours on Saturday and then another 5 hours for Sunday evening. So far I'm pretty sure I'll get a 4.0 again. After all of the work I've done I better have, lol. You don't know even want to know how many papers and reports I've typed up. Let's just say that my huge ream of white paper beside my printer was full at the beginning of the semester and now it's almost empty.

not too much.. that's probably why i only have a 3.7 :( . oh well.. with my schedule i dont have much time to do homework anyway, but some nights i dont even open my backpack which is a major problem... im such a big procrastinator it's really bad. good thing i have 1.5 hrs everyday in school to get work done : )

Way too freakin' much. I think everyone can concur.

(This weekend is worse than usual - four essays, a project, and exam week :O)

sapphire, are you kidding me? A 3.7 is awesome. I wish I could get a 3.7 and not do as much work for it than work my *** off for a 4.0, lol.

true, that's sortof why i dont bother to do much work. i could try to do 4+ hrs a night like some people in my grade but the extra .4 or so on my gpa doesnt seem worth it at this point. when im applying to colleges next year i might regret it though, who knows.

how much time i spend on work depends on the day and time of the year...there are certains times of the year when the teachers just LOAD IT ON without mercy...but there are times when its pretty cool....so I'd say I spend maybe an hour/two on average for HW every day...but apart from homework also have to study... which takes up a ton of time too...:(

cant wait till the christmas breakkkkkkkk :D lol

I wouldn't call myself a procrastinator so much. I just have a lot of work and no real time to do it. My school saved all the IB coursework until this year and everything is generally due within 2-3 weeks of each other. So I just have this massive amount of work, studying for tests, doing projects and labs. It's just so ridiculous. I've already spent 6 hours today on work. I got up at 8 am just to start. I hate being a senior.

You should plan 1 hr daily for each AP

I have on average a total of 4 hours of homework.

IB isn't as easy as giving each class an hour.

About 1-2 hours, I have 6 aps, but i'm slacking hard. I usually just study for tests, around 10-12, since most classes have no homework by now or homework is optional. There's occassional essays/blah, but other than than that.

Hours and hours. It's neverending.

today is probably the most homework i have done in one day so far this school year..2 hours so far today...probably 4 by the end of the day. senioritis kicking in.

wow u guys r crazy. I have like 30 minutes of reading every two days. That's all the hw i have. the other hws i do at school thus not hw lol.

Well, I've tried spending alot of time on my hw (3 hours was my max though). But honestly, alot of that time is just spent on AIM/mindless chatting...

I usually spend anywhere from 1-3 hours on homework and studying. If I have a test or project, etc, then I usually end up spending more time doing everything. This year I have a Study Lab class so I am able to get some of my homework done at school.
