I see a lot of people on here who say they're taking 5 APs in school and another 5 online or something crazy like that. I always wonder how they can possibly have the time to study for all those classes.

So, what classes do you take and how long do you spend studying/ doing homework each night?

The classes I have and how much time I spend with them on average:

AP Biology: 30-60 minutes
AP English Lang: 10-30 minutes
AP European History: 30-90 minutes
AP Psychology: 15-45 minutes
Honors Pre Calc: 20-30 minutes

So I usually spend anywhere from 1.5 hours to 4 hours if I have like four tests the next day.

Sophomore year I took all honors (at my school you can’t take AP’s until junior year), the amount of homework really varied, some nights I had less then an hour, other days I had over four. For junior year half my classes will be AP, the other half honors, so I am interested to see how much homework that produces…

Usually I had anywhere from 0 to 2 hours of homework a night, with an average of about 15-30 minutes a night (so you can see the skewness). This was with 2-3 AP’s each during my soph, junior, senior years.

I usually spend two-three studying, but not more than that. I can’t sit in one place too long. This is with 5 AP’s sophmore and junior year, and all gt/honors classes freshman year.

Freshman: 1-2 (I had 4 honors, 1 reg, and 1 AP)
Soph: 1-2 (all honors, 1 AP)
Junior: 4-6 (sometimes as much as 8 or 10. APES took a lot. I had 4 APs and 2 honors classes.)
Senior: Not sure (I have 3college classes, 2 APs, and 1 honors.)

As little time as I can :). I usually end up coasting, but I’m cracking down this year because I want to get higher grades on my APs (tests not classes) and I want a 4.0 GPA or higher (it’s 3.9 now, but that was with my AP course and I had some low grades in other classes). I HATE sitting still and doing homework. Usually it looks like I’m spending a couple hours but it was really 20 minutes (unless it’s the night before something’s due).

In 8th grade it took way too long, but that’s because I never really tried concentrating and always distracted myself with facebook/tumblr/music/etc… I usually stayed up till 2 am, and didn’t even finish everything. Freshman year, I’m hoping to take way less time.
