When I chose to send mine on November 1st, the order was pending and my scores were officially sent on November 6th. I checked my application progress on the 10th, and it said that my SAT scores were processed, so it is probably not more than four days. I did not rush order my scores either, so I thought collegeboard was pretty quick.

i sent mine with the free score reports and they sent it two days before results came out for me lol
some are electronic so i think the colleges get it that day and process it… some ask for mail delivery though which might take two to three days to reach the school…
i’m not really sure but that’s what i think =)

I was just wondering about this. My daughter never used the four free colleges when she took the SAT. She took it again in October and we sent scores around the last days of October. She just applied online to her schools this past SUnday. On Monday she got a call from one of the schools she applied to asking if she had sent scores yet. The school receives scores electronically. Is this normal for them to not have received them yet? Is there a way to determine what day they were sent?

Never mind. I just took a look on CollegeBoard.com and it says that the four free scores are sent in two days when the scores are available but when you send additional scores they are sent approximately four weeks after the request is submitted on collegeboard.

Don’t pay attention to that four weeks, which College Board has been saying since before the invention of the internet, email and fax machines. How long it actually takes is usually a lot shorter than that but depends on college. Many colleges have computer files set up with the CB that the CB sticks the scores in within two to three days after you order them, and then the college goes into the computer file when it wants to download scores (possibly every week, possibly every other week). In other words, CB actually never “sends” anything in the sense many may think of as “send.” Others get electronic delivery potentially every week or every other week, so it could be two weeks. Some still actually get mailings and those can take longer but usually less than two weeks. If you ordered them sent end of October and school just told you they still don’t have them and it gets them electronically, you should consider calling CB to assure they have been sent.

My scores weren’t sent out for about two weeks the last time I sent them, which was about a month ago. I guess it depends on when you send them. I sent them when everyone was sending out EA/ED applications and so it took longer.
