<p>I'm sure this is covered somewhere but I searched and couldn't find it. How much time do admissions officers spend on each application? At universities where they receive 10k+ apps, how much time do they really have to devote to all that you've sent them? If anybody can direct me to a similar thread or give me a good estimate it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!.</p>
<p>i'm not sure how much is spent on apps, but supposedly they just quickly skim and read your essay, only spending around a minute on each one. that's why it's so important to make it unique, interesting and all about you!! they get bored of reading hundreds of "i went on vacation..." and "i helped the african children..."</p>
<p>probably not that much time on the regular application either, though!!! :(</p>
<p>personally, just by reading CC casually, i can easily breeze through a chance thread with the gist of it in a minute; an essay a minute or two. </p>
<p>I would guess there is probably a pile of "yes, definitely", "no, never", and then another pile of maybes that the whole board looks at together</p>
