How much time?

How much time did everyone here invest in their personal statements? I have to write two essays for a Nov. 1 deadline, and I'm really not getting anywhere with this. I'm not sure if I'm overthinking the process... maybe I just need to run with something.

My parents locked my up for the entire weekend, and I produced nothing.
Suddenly, one night (it was a school night too) I woke up in the middle of a night when an idea hit me. I stayed up till 2:30am typing it up, and so far I've been receiving great feedback.

Total invested time: 2 hours

It's different for everybody I think.

Yeah, my parents did the same thing... I guess I need that moment of inspiration.

Yea, you just need that bolt of lightning to strike you.
And when you do, whatever you create will be great.
However, you are in big trouble if you never get that moment...so don't keep waiting until the night before your apps are due!
Go do something different for a change. Go hiking, boating, or something that will make you think differently and maybe something painfully obvious will hit you and get the creative juices flowing.

What the heck.

I've been spending probably around 20 hours on my Personal Statement, and I'm still correcting...

(Just started the 500word for YaleSCEA and 150EC and short takes)

Haha, it takes me like a week to get my ideas down. Then, it takes about 4 to 5 hours to write it.

meh... hopefully something comes soon.
