How much to expect?

<p>My family’s income is under 20K (we have been four years in the US. We came as refugees.) I got accepted into the University of Michigan, and I am wondering how much financial aid should I expect? ( i am instate green card holder, and also qualify for citizenship in the next year) thanks for your help guys.</p>

<p>Yosup, where did you get the figure of $5500? I’d assume everything should be paid for, and no loans would be required.</p>

<p>As far as I know, that’s the max amount a first year student is allowed to borrow from the government. My parents income was under $30k (EFC was 0), and that was the aid I got from U of M. I don’t think the school gives a complete full ride with financial aid unless you get a scholarship with it, but I may be wrong…</p>
