<p>When one takes out money for the Parent PLUS loans, should they take out the entire sum at first or take out enough for each semester, or each year? My parents said it's better to take it all out at once b/c it may be harder to be approved for the subsequent loans, but I know the interest will also be considerably higher on a large lump sum from the beginning.</p>
<p>Take the full amount you need for the academic year. The loan will be disbursed (paid out) by semesters, one-half the full amount for each term. The interest doesn't acccrue until the loan portions are disbursed.</p>
