Hey,
I recently took the ACT in April, and I just got my results back, and I'm very dissatisfied with one portion of my ACT, the reading.
My composite score was 31; I got a 33 on Math, a 33 on Science, and a 33 on Writing.
Then we go to the reading portion, I only got a 25. I was totally surprised because the first time I got a 31 on reading, and all the practice tests I've been taking, I've been getting 31-32 as well. Honestly, my reading is not that horrible. I don't really want to go through the ordeal of taking it again if I don't have to.

Eh,
I just read this on their website:
Note: The ACT composite score and other ACT scores are not considered for admission.
Did I take it out of context, or is this true?

For the ACT, they only look at MATH and ENGLISH for admissions. They make you report WRITING as well, but I'm pretty sure they don't use it for admissions.

They don't consider READING or SCIENCE, as far as I know, so you should be fine.

Sorry, going on College Confidential has made me anal about everything college related. Thanks for the input. I meant English for Writing, I forgot it's different with the ACTs.

that policy is for last year, right? Next year could be different. I think that's when they will start looking at the writing score. Several years of data make for good correlation validity...
