<p>That’s kinda weird… I was reading the article, and it mentioned their mailings to high school sophmores, and I thought “darn, I never got something from them.” Got the mail 5 minutes later, and had a letter from UChicago.</p>
<p>“We can do what we damn well please, so long as we have good reasons” is about the greatest sentence i’ve ever heard in my life.</p>
<p>Chicagoboy. I would not worry about it. My D’s school did not offer very many and some public schools have tons. Given that good schools get the profile from your school as part of the application process, they can make a judgement. Schools with lots of AP’s courses are the ones who generated the mutliple AP scholars with 10 or more 5’s. Did not hurt my D or her friends who got in to the Ivy’s. However, you have to take the strongest schedule possible. Also as an afterthought, some school believe their regular courses are as good as AP’. D’s school feels that way about its English course and offers no AP English but encourages the students to take the AP exam.</p>
