How much will a 5 on my AP ENG Lang/Comp help me for UT?

Earlier, I inquired about my chances of getting into UT. (Texas, not Tennesee). I'm a white male, clinging to the top quarter in class rank at a pretigious yet small private school (15/75 at the start of soph year). My cumulative GPA is almost exactly 94. I've taken every single Honors class my school has offered so far. Unfortunately, they don't offer honors and AP in every subject. My EC's include varsity and JV basketball, being a member of the NASA High School Aerospace Scholars program, having job experience as a Dallas Mavericks Ballboy, being in the National Honor Society, and placing 13th in a regional spelling bee after finishing 1st at my grade level in district (Not sure if this counts for anything since it was MS)

Anyway, I just got my mail today, and found out that I got a 5 on the AP English Lang/Comp test. Being able to not take freshmen English is somewhat nice I guess, but the real reason I'm so happy about my 5 is that I know it will look great on my transcript. I'm just wondering how great. How are my chances of getting into UT? My school has classes to prepare for the AP Eng Lit, the AP Chem, and the AP Clac AB tests next year. I'm definitely taking the AP Eng Lit test, but probably not doing calculus. I was also considering self studying for the AP History test since I love history, bujt no AP courses are offered. What's the best road to take in my case?

I'm another hopeful UT student. . . . I want to take Stats instead of Calc (my intended major is econ) and wonder how much that will hurt me with UT. I know it would hurt me at Ivies and top LACs, but I don't know about UT.

Anyone have an answer for us? sigh I'm actually wearing a Longhorn t-shirt right now.

I'm wearing a UT shirt too. I've always wanted to go there, but the "top ten percent rule" has made me question my chances.

Are you in-state?

Yes. I'm from Dallas, and have a mother who's a UT alum.

bumpity....

You have a good chance there. But unfortunately, I don't think the one AP exam score will make much of a difference.

Ok. Just curious, because most people at my school end up going to slightly lesser schools like Baylor and Texas Tech rather than UT. I'm planning on taking the AP Eng Lit test next year, but due to my school not having AP History, Govt, or Economics, the 2 English tests may be my only 2 AP's unfortunately.
