Hi, i just took 2 subject tests on october 14 (physics and literature), and i think i might have failed them :( how will these affect my chances of getting into somewhere such as penn or stanford?

i am afraid i could have scored as low as 550 on the literature and 650 on the physics :(

However, i am a national merit semifinalist, i have decent SAT scores, good grades, decent extra curricular activities, and an ok amount of community service.

i am really worried about this help!! so basically my question is, will accidentally scoring really low on one subject test affect me greatly?

It depends on what schools you're applying to. Though most schools weigh the SAT I more than the SAT IIs, some might consider them equal (even though I don't know of any schools that actually do that). However, since you mentioned you want to go to Penn/Stanford, I believe that they give more weight to the SAT I than the SAT IIs.

Your other stuff sounds impressive though, so I think you'll be fine. Your GPA and SAT I score is crucial, and it looks like you're fine with those two. Actually, on some schools' websites, they don't even mention the SAT IIs as a factor. Personally I think you'll be fine.

If you're still worried, you can always cancel your SAT IIs.

what are you?

as long as you're not a senior, it doesn't affect you at all

if you're a senior, then you can say good bye to penn and stanford unless you can raise your score by quite a bit before sending your apps

lol... way to put it lightly. in my opinion... ur screwed as far as early decisions concerned. get barrons, take them and pwn them in december, write the dec testing date on ur app, and ur fine. good luck!

yes it'll affect you, but some schools don't even require them so don't fret too much
