I have never had a a C before for my high school grades but i just ended my first quarter and I think I’m going to end with a C in AP stats, but Im not totally sure. Will colleges not accept me because of this?
Depends on the college.
im not applying to too prestige colleges. the most prestige is probably northeastern and carnegie mellon but for carnegie i have a legacy
I’m no expert, but if you have taken a bunch of challenging courses and done well then that one C isn’t going to ruin your chances. Have you done well in other math classes? Is your math SAT score good? I also think your intended major might be significant. If you want to major in the humanities that C might be less important than if you want to be an engineer.
Will your quarter grade be reported on your official transcript?
See, the problem is asking without understanding the competition, what matters, and how. A C grade in a core, especially one related to your possible major, can have an effect. It depends. At some colleges, for some programs or majors, the competition they take most seriously won’t have C grades. At others, they barely look at freshman grades, if at all.
Not sure why a 9th grader is taking AP stats. CMU isn’t guaranteed with legacy.
If you are a freshman, then it should only be your final grade for the year that will matter. Try to get some tutoring help and work to bring it up - with 3 more quarters you still have time.
^ just saying. What a college sees depends on how the hs formats the transcript.
no i am a senior in high school right now @Momma2018
@citymama9 ive gotten a 33 in math ACT and this is my first C ever
i wouldn’t stress over it
