I’m applying ED II, & for senior year I have all A’s but I just got back my results from my second mid-term in my college class, which dropped my grade to a C. So, I have a one C in my college class, but it is a 200 level course at Williams College. Do you think admissions will look at it in the context of being a Williams course?
No it will not affect your chances in any college admission. Are you not applying to Williams? Do you prefer Wellesley over Williams and if so why?
If you are taking 200 level classes at Williams as a high school senior, you will be very well prepared for what Wellesley or for that matter any college wants to throw at you :).
Good Luck.
@tamtiger thanks! I am applying to Williams, but I am interested in Wellesley more; Wellesley is my top choice, hence applying ED II. I live in the Berkshires, so Williams is a little too close to home for me. Also, Williams is more “sporty”/there’s more of an emphasis on athletics than Wellesley.
Just making sure, you know Wellesley is all women unlike Williams right ?
Yes W has more to offer that Williams - closer to civilization than Williams, a different vibe, but equally challenging [don’t kid yourself, both W and Williams are challenging, a C in W and Williams will be a A- in lot of other colleges] and it is all women set in one of the most beautiful campus in the country.
I read this on CC about 3 to 4 years ago - a W alum stated this about W - " it is like boot camp, you regret having made the decision to attend W when you are at W, but when you graduate you are thankful for having put yourself through W". I believe it is very true. I hope the applicants do understand what they are getting themselves in to.
W is no ordinary college, it is intense, rigorous, they are “beating you up in to shape” to meet the challenges that a woman leader may face in life, be it what ever walk of life they choose.
Do you want to be a leader, you do not mind facing challenges, then W is the college for you.
We are all waiting for the next President from W, who knows it may be you or your cohorts from Class of 2021.
Best Wishes.
