How much will a Math Subject Test affect ED SEAS chances?

In the June Sat IIs I had a bad day and scored a 650 in math 1. I'm certainly going to retake it in November but I'm worried that that score will hurt my chances a lot at SEAS ED since they are obviously looking at math scores. I have received all A's in my math and science classes in high school and a 700 on the math section on the SAT 1 (I'm retaking it in October). I come from a fairly competitive school in New York.
Thanks!

i dont want to sound mean, but 650 on Math I will look really bad… I was under the impression that unless its Math II many schools dont even count it as a subject test. And if you’re only scoring 650 on Math I maybe Engineering isnt the right place for you.

There is no way to quantify that. Obviously, you want to improve those scores to above 700 if you can. I heard that you might have a better chance of scoring high in SAT Math2 than Math1. It is a harder test but it is also more forgiving than Math1. Try doing Math2 practice test and see if you can score better.

Vikings, I know it isn’t good. I’m having my second thoughts on engineering now too haha. I’m thinking of taking Math 2s in November, I did better on a practice test for the 2s. My only concern if I take math 2 is that colleges will still consider the 650 in math 1 since the Math 2 is a separate subject test and most of the schools I’m applying to say they will consider the top scores in each subsection. Thanks guys.

I think you are sweating the little details too much. I guess it is possible that an admission person may notice that 650 in Math1 and it might make some negative impression in his/her assessment. But the more likely scenario is that if you score very high in Math2, it will signify that you are strong enough in math to be accepted. The rest of your application compared to other kids will be much more important at that point.
