How much will a perfect supplemental rec affect my transfer chances

<p>I got a supplemental recommendation from my favorite teacher of all time (high school), and she checked "one of the top few I've encountered" for every single option except for productive class discussion and concern for others, for both of which she checked "top 5%"</p>

<p>I decided to get a supplemental rec from her given the difficulty of gaining admission for transfer. How much would this help, if at all?</p>

<p>I’ve heard high school recs don’t count for all that much…maybe it could give you an edge in a close situation, but I don’t think any recommendation- whether from a professor or HS teacher- would overcome an application that lacks in a more critical area (as in grades or test scores).</p>
