Because of scheduling incompetency at my school, I may need to drop AP Macroecon (my first period) this semester, even though I could take the class during fourth period, my current free period.

It's a somewhat long story, but in short, I'd like to know if it would reflect badly on me if I were to drop AP Econ, but then audit the class during fourth period and take the AP. I would offer to have my teacher provide confirmation I "auditted" the class (basically, come to lectures and keep up with the material, just without getting a grade) and to guarantee that I would take the AP in order to prove I had actually learned the material.

Basically, I really want to take the course and learn Econ, but because of our incredibly stubborn/asinine scheduling office, I cannot do so if I want a first period free (which I need, once again, long explanation needed). The colleges in concern are Yale, to which I was accepted Early Action; Harvard; Princeton; and Stanford. I would probably send an email to the admissions office regarding this change to my schedule. I asked my college counselor, and he said they'd be fine with it, but I wanted to double-check here before I made my final decision.
