Well, I took Spanish III H this year because I was persuaded by my older sister. She said I should just take it, since she took it in Junior year as well and did fine. So I did and on the first day, the teacher overwhelmed the crap out of me.. speaking in Spanish for the whole period pretty much. I realized that I wasn't going to like the class.. (I'm pretty weak at Spanish.) But if I did keep it, I could have at least gotten a B.. but I just hated the fact that I would dread going to spanish class everyday. I really dislike when teachers randomly call on you and expect you to give an oral answer in response. Also, doing oral presentations, like teaching the class in spanish or something similar. Yeah so my SATs are probaly going to be in the low 1400s. I'm 15th in my class of 523 and I will have taken 6 aps throughout my high school years. (High Upward trend) ECs are unfortunately mainly fluff.. Do I still have any chances of getting into Nursing for Upenn? (I'm a male if that helps any) My sister currently attends Upenn for nursing fyi. thanks.

Your teacher may be overwhelming by speaking to you in spanish, however evaluate yourself. Your in Spanish 3 Honors, a honors foreign class. She will intentionally load you with assignments and whatnot.

I really have no idea, but this gave me the lulz:

As opposed to what other kind of answer? And yeah, it's so annoying when teachers want you to, like, participate in class. @@

Anyway, I'd say give it a fighting chance. If you want to get into nursing, Spanish could really help you if you have any Latino/a patients.

Just keep it. Every adult I've talked to that dropped their Spanish class really regretted it later on. If you couldn't understand the teacher's Spanish, then you obviously could improve. I may be a little biased since Spanish is my strongest class, but if you stick with it you'll be happy with your decision later. I would recommend a 4th year too.

I think it's probably good to keep up with your Spanish, especially if you think you can get a pretty good grade in it. Anyway, it will probably be useful to you in nursing.

Umm, I'm trying to drop my 4th year sequence of Spanish right now as a senior.

I'm not a college admissions counselor, so I can't tell you if it's good or bad. Although, it's probably better if you stick with the language. That being said, I don't think a school's going to flatout reject you just because you decided to drop Spanish.

I've called up all the schools I'm interested in, and from the responses I got, they're not too picky about it.
