What has this world come to?!?!?!

Nope, no difference between A’s and A-'s, I would think. If someone knows better they can correct me, but when colleges look at unweighted it doesn’t factor in. And yes, it will hurt you.

Okay, it might not count for ED, but certainly keep an eye on them and still do the best that you can! Then if you need them for RD, colleges will definitely see that your junior year second semester was somewhat of a fluke.

As for the community college classes, you can take whatever course you’re interested in–something related to what you want to major in would be ideal. (And yes probably taken over the summer.) That way you can show colleges that you’re interested and passionate and that you are working hard to redeem your school GPA and grades. Some high schools take into account classes you take at colleges into your gpa, so if you do well you can bring that up. gl!

And no, I dont think there’s much of a difference between A-s and As. Well, i don’t think there’s absolutely NO difference…but still very little…as for my school, they are weighted differently so every bit counts (its uber competitive grr) but really nothing to fret over (dont mind me im neurotic :D) But they do factor in most schools’ unweighted grades I would think…if not, all the better!

Most colleges calculate GPA different from your high schools. I am not sure whether or not A-s are worth less than As in terms of numerical GPA, but really when they look at your application holistically it really doesn’t matter! Perhaps I should start a thread and ask about this..

“I had health issues so my final report grades for the upcoming semester will be all b’s. I’m worried because they are ALL b’s. There is no way, mathematically possible, for me to get A’s in any of the classes so they will all be B’s.”

If you had major health issues causing the grade drop, have your GC explain that in the report the GC will need to send to colleges when you apply. The colleges may understand depending on what the problems were.

7B’s in one semester that can be explained by health issues that semester? Not a problem. Good grades before that and over that will take care of it.
