How Much Will My Status Help Me?

Hey everyone, I’m planning on applying to Brown in the fall ED with these stats:

White Male from New England
4.25 W/3.83 UW GPAs
2140 SAT (720 M 740 W 680 CR)- I will retake in Oct. to try for 2200+
SAT 2’s: 710 Bio, 730 USH, 780 M2C

I have ec’s, taking a couple AP’s like everyone else seems to be.

I also have a legacy status (mom) and here’s a list of others in my family who went to Brown:
Grandfather (Mom’s Father), Great Grandfather (Mom’s Grandfather), Uncle (Mom’s Brother), Uncle (Dad’s Brother), 2 Cousins, and 1 Cousin who is currently enrolled.

So does the idea of a possible 4th generation Brown student intrigue the ADCOMS?

Holy ****. 4th generation legacy? yea you have a great shot.

Id say it will only help you if your family has been active in their alumni networks and/or given a lot of money to the school.

It will help you, but not a whole lot unless your family donates a lot.

Be forewarned, several legacies in my area were not admitted, and in at least one case it was a double legacy with active alumni parents.
