How much will this increase my chances?

This is kind of a chance thread so...and maybe my final chance thread*

I just got my scores from the course I took at my local community college and I would like to know much it increases my chances:
College GPA: 4.0 (I'm going to be a high school senior btw)
Courses I took at the college:
College Chemistry 101
Pre-calculus

The schools I am looking at for engineering:

University of Southern California
University of Rochester
Lehigh University

Syracuse Unversity
The College of New Jersey (In-state)
Case Western (Early Action)
Ohio State (Early Action)
Rugters (Early Action and In-State)
NCSU (Early Action)
University of Minnesota (Early Action and application sent)

My other stats:

SAT: 740 Math 540 CR 590 W (1870)
SAT 2: taking in October
ACT: 26 (retaking)
GPA: 4.33

most rigorous course load possible

400+ hours of community service

semi-finalist for NJ Scholars

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)>- I WILL CHANCE BACK

AND IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHICH SCHOOLS TO ADD OR REMOVE, I WILL GREATLY APPRECIATE IT :D

ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU ALL GIRLS AND GUYS!!!!!! :) :)>- :D

Your gpa is very good and those college courses are sure to help you as well seeing as how you did so well in them. Your test scores are lacking however. 400 hours of community service is great, and you look like you have a pretty good set of ECs.
USC-reach
Rochester, Lehigh, Bucknell- high match, low reach
Syracuse, College of New Jersey, Case Western, Ohio st, rutgers, NCSU, Minnesota- match (some low match/safety)
Could you chance me if you have time?

I think you have really good ECs and if you do well on your SAT IIs (especially math since you want to do engineeering), you have a really good chance at all the schools you’re applying too!
University of Southern California - Low reach
University of Rochester - Low reach
Lehigh University - Low reach
Bucknell University - High match
Syracuse Unversity - Match
The College of New Jersey/ Case Western/Ohio State/Rugters /NCSU/University of Minnesota - All low matches/safeties

They’re gonna look down on your math SAT score for sure… That’s really low for someone with such a high GPA, college classes, math club, and looking for engineering?

What did you mean by 2 sessions of track? Do you mean season?

If you still have time, retake the SAT. Other than that it looks pretty good.

@brianb299‌ and @virago1‌ thank you!

@Iforalaska It’s just that my English (Comprehension wise) isn’t so good. As for math, I thought a 740 is high but I’ll try to raise that. Thank you!

@learner83 yes I mean seasons. Sorry. I’ll retake my ACT first and then if it’s still low I will definitely retake my SAT. On the practice test I took over the summer, I have gotten between 28-30 with a 33-35 for math. Thank you!

If you can get your sat/act up to a 2100+, you’ll have a great shot at getting into any of those schools and should even look at some more selective ones as reaches! Your gpa is phenomenal and your EC’s solid. Chance back please?

I think with the volunteering and GPA you should have a good shot at most of those schools. That being said, if you raise your ACT score and maybe your SAT score, I think that all of those schools are within your reach

Yes, just try and improve on the standardized test scores a bit. You should have a decent shot at all these universities I think. :)

Great extracurriculars! The only school I know about is USC. You have an acceptable GPA for USC, but you should improve your score on the SAT or ACT. I would say, as of right now, you are between Low Reach and Reach. Good luck!!

I wouldn’t reccomend having a public school outside of Jersey as a safety.

@AnnieBeats I will apply to Rowan (in-state public) if I don’t get accepted to Rutgers before December. Do you think that’s an okay plan or…?

That’s a solid plan. Two in state safeties is really enough. You don’t really need much more than that. If you actually want to go to them, then that is fine. But use them as a match, not a safety.

@anniebeats you seem to have some great advice. Would you mind checking out my “chance me”? thanks!

Honestly you have nothing to worry about! You’re gpa for your course work is great and same w/ your ec’s. good luck! <:-P

@AnnieBeats Okay! I really don’t want to attend Rutgers but I think it’s best if I apply since it is in-state. Thank you so much!

@conservativearts‌ @hockeykid99‌ @cityrazzledazzle‌ @senior2015‌ Thank you so much! I will try to raise my scores!

@The701‌ Haha thanks even tho I feel I’ll get rejected at half of the schools on my list.

And for those also applying to college good luck to you as well and for those who aren’t good luck in what ever you do! :)

Matches/low reach for all except bucknell- reach.
I would say aim to improve test scores! Good luck!

if you improve your sat to 2000+ i would say there is a 86% guarantee that you can get admission in your desired field chance back?

UPDATE: I GOT MY ACT SCORES TODAY AND IT’S A 29 (34 MATH 31 WRITING 25 READING AND SCIENCE)

How much does this change my chances? Possibly retaking next month bc I believe I could get a 30+

I really don’t know much about chancing people, but don’t let anyone tell you that a 740 math SAT is “really low.” We payed for the enhanced report when my son took his SATs. The first time his math score was 770, because he got one (1!) question wrong. The second time he took it, he dropped to a 740 - that time he got two wrong. Contrast that with the 780 he got on the reading where he got 7 or 8 wrong. The admissions offices know that there is very little difference between a 740 and an 800 on the math SATs.
