How much would a bad interview hurt me?

I applied for early action a while ago and had my interview back in like September, but I can't stop thinking about my interview. It went awful. I showed up at the restaurant 5 minutes early, just standing by the door. The guy interviewing showed up 15 minutes late and he forgot all his notes and papers so he had no idea who he was even looking for. When I finally realized he was the one I was looking for, I introduced myself and he just snubbed my handshake. The guy acted like a total jerk the entire time, he even said that he did not like his experience at MIT. All of the questions were awkward since he could not remember what he was going to ask, since they were on his notes that he forgot. The questions he did ask me were really vague and he was grilling me to answer them even though I had no idea how to. Overall, it was an awful experience and I know it did not go well, would this interview hurt my chances. MIT is already a reach for me, so I am really doubting my chances now.

it isnt ur fault… its his fault… it wont hurt u and since its suppose to usually be a positive thing for people… so just think of it as being an application out of total of 10… since u lost the interview as one positive aspect… ur application is out of 9 now… something like that…

yeah, son’t blame yourself, chances are his bad ediquette will show in his interview report.

oh wow. My friend had her MIT alumni interview two weekends ago at the alumni’s house. Her interviewer was completely disinterested the entire time. Although, I’m pretty sure the interviews don’t count for much, she called the admissions office and explained what had happened. They assigned her another interview in a few weeks. So I wouldn’t worry too much, but if it is really bugging you, just give them a call.

Absolutely,
I am absolutely gutted when I hear tales of disinterested or downright incompetent EC’s. And we EC’s are graded on the quality of our feedback to the admissions office, and the weak ones are culled, but that is little consolation if your EC was poor.
If the EC as you say “did not like his experience at MIT” then I cannot understand why he became an EC in the first place. I would definitely consider notifying the admissions office.

wait if the interview goes bad you can request another one? lol.
