I'm thinking about applying Columbia SEAS this year...
I'm deciding between Columbia/Duke ED.. I love all these schools, even though they are really different.
I want to get into at least one of them..
However, I think ED is dangerous for middle class like me.. Columbia's also super expensive (tuitions AND extra money to live in NYC)
My parents earn 70k~80k, and I have two younger sisters (5 people in family)
What would be the financial aid package for student like me at Columbia SEAS?
Can anyone compare it to Duke's fin aid as well?

Don’t know for sure, but with your family’s income bracket I’m predicting that most Ivies and the like will give you quite a lot of fin aid

and in general columbia will be more generous than duke - though not absolute, but it tends to out aid duke, and only be beat out by HYP - S and M.

I’m not even sure Stanford beats Columbia for financial aid, at that income level and family situation, I’d expect for Columbia to ask your family to pay virtually nothing to attend. For families earning 60K a year and below Columbia tuition and board is free. 70-80K is not very different and the extra siblings could make it free.
