How much would having a 3.7 UC GPA hurt my chances?

<p>We can tell you what you want to hear, but the fact is that your chances of admission as a freshman applicant are very slim. The 4-5% that are admitted from your GPA range likely have something extraordinary… Perhaps they’re athletes or something. Writing a killer personal statement probably won’t be enough.</p>

<p>If you want to attend Berkeley, spend two years at community college. That’s your best path right now. It gives you the opportunity to start over, with a blank slate. If you don’t want to attend community college, you’ll be attending a lesser UC or a CSU. And don’t think you can attend a CSU for two years and then transfer to Berkeley. It’s possible, but community college applicants have priority.</p>
