Lately I've been considering volunteering at a hospital as I would like to go into medicine. I would do it over the summer (I'm a junior at the moment). Honestly I just want to volunteer because I think it'd be fun and beneficial for future medical experiences, but how much would that help me get into colleges? Could I go from say a 50% chance of getting in to a 75%? I live in Virginia and want to go to VT or JMU. At the moment I think I'd probably get in but am definitely not guaranteed. Any help is appreciated!

My GPA is a 3.74 cumulative (4.1ish freshman year, 3.4ish sophomore year) and this year it’s a 3.72. I’ve taken 3 AP’s and many honors classes thus far and will take 3 AP’s next year.
