How Necessary are SAT Subject Tests?

I'm applying to Wharton ED and my only chance to do the SAT II's are in November. I have taken both the ACT and SAT, so I know i don't technically have to do the SAT II's. I scored higher on the ACT than the SAT (34 vs. 2100) but I would like to know how much taking the SAT II's would help/hurt me, and whether or not I would be penalized for not taking them. I think i could get an 800 on Math II, and I'd probably do Physics and US History which I could hopefully both get in the 700s with some studying/practice. Thanks.

You should take them–esp. as it sounds you will do well. The more info they have about you, the better.

it’s up to you. since you scored high in act, i wouldn’t worry about it. if you do decide to take sat II’s in November, you’ll have to rush scores.

as of right now, i’m leaning toward not taking them. i feel like my only safe bet for a high score is in math, and i already have a 36 math subscore on the act plus other math awards to demonstrate that. physics and us history are pretty hard i’ve heard from people at my school with similar levels of knowledge in those topics… overall i feel like its too risky to be worth rushing into doing.

thanks for the advice, though.

yea. i would focus on the other parts of your app right now. we have less than one month left!
