So I know that Chem 3A is a STRICT prerequisite for Bio 1A, but will we really be applying the in depth material that we are doing in Chem. 3A in Bio 1A. Like do we need to master mechanism and synthesis in order to do well in Bio 1A? Right now I'm not doing so hot Chem 3A and I don't want that to influence how much Bio 1A I can understand. Lol, on a side note, it seems like everybody I have talked to is planning on taking Bio 1A in the fall and Chem 3B in the spring.

You won’t be applying material really in depth. But you need to know nucleophilic attack and really basic things like that. There really isn’t that much ochem on there. I found Bio 1A to be easier than Chem 3A. The only difference is that there isn’t much of a curve in Bio 1A so averages are usually higher than 50.

can you take chem 3a concurrently with bio 1a?

No you need to have taken Chem 3A before you even enroll, otherwise, Mike Meighan will just instructor drop you.

You can enroll for Bio 1A for fall if you are taking Chem 3A/L in summer, they just send you a threatening sounding email that says if you get less than a C- that they will drop you, but that is the closest one can come to enrolling for Bio 1A before takinge 3A
