I start Eastern CT State University this month and plan to apply as a transfer during the beginning of my second semester of my freshman year for the FALL of 2011.
Since my culm high school GPA wasn't that good (about 2.75 uw, 3.15 w) and my SATs weren't that good either (620 CR, 460 M (ouch!) 600 W, 1080/1680), how good will my freshman GPA have to be to stand a fighting chance at being admitted?
I'm aiming for a 3.5-3.6 and hopefully will be able to reach that goal.
Other info - Hispanic female, first generation, majoring in English, in state.
Also, I'm going to join a few clubs and retake the SATs once or twice in Oct/Nov.

You should be aiming for a high 3.X with your high school GPA and Math SAT score.

Thanks! I already retook the SATs and didn’t improve as much as I would have liked. (620 CR, 510 M, 620 W, 1130/1750). However, I did better my first semester than I thought I was going to do - I got 4 A’s and 2 A-'s for a GPA of 3.89. I also joined two clubs - the English Club and Best Buddies.

Now, all I have to do now is apply and wait. :D

The new sat score n college gpa should def help goodluck can u chance me back please

Well I just got accepted to UCONN Storrs this morning! I’m so excited.
