Thank you, hotpiece101.
Are you Black/Latina?

willtopower, i am black.

Are both your parents Black?

I know a lot of Latinos/as who consider themselves Black.

Mos Def said something to the effect of: 'There are two lines, one for niccaz, and one for those who ain't.'

yeah, both of my parents are black.

Where are you from?

Ohio (ten characters)

now that 20 questions is over, [cool, I'm from OH too!]

you can stop feeling persecuted. Cops are doing their job. Inequities exist within any system, but you shouldn't dislike cops in general. They enforce the laws, and provide you with security. They risk their lives. You don't.

sure inequities exist within any system, but if a person is being persecuted by a police officer, the police officer is not doing their job. The job of the police is to maintain law and order. not single out and persecute certain people. So, willtopower should not have to stop feeling persecuted.

plus, everyone is entitled to their own feelings and opinions. you can't really tell someone to feel a certain way ;)

Ayo, hotpiece101, you're all over this thread. You that 'ride or die' type'a chick (Will you marry me?).

snickers

That's not nice hotpeice, but hella funny.

I personally have never been harrassed by the police in my burbs in pennsylvania. I am lucky. the police can't do this or that, it's illegal, yeah, probably true. But I think in certain places they do whatever they want because what recourse do the people living there have? hire a high priced lawyer and sue the department? These people live a daily life of persecution because they are not white, or live in a certain area. that's the reality. good for your acceptance letter, and good luck to you in college!

only time i've ever had a policeman or security officer do anytihng but smile at me was at the airport several years back( who seriousely pat's down a 13 year old)

but no, i respect them. they have a job where they risk their lives everyday and for the most part do good to a society. i'm not saying all cops are fair, but for the most part, i have never seen any reason to do anytihng but respect them.

The cops in where I live tend to act like they're above the law. Like on the highway, the speed limit is 55mph, and they're cruisin past (not chasing anyone) at 80 or 90. If I were to do that, I'd certainly get pulled over.

Prepstad: Uhhh... get glasses man :P At least, a light black. (Side note: She is very pretty!)

When a policeman asks for you to empty your pockets, and you say "Under what just cause am I legally obligated to do so?", what are some valid reasons they can give such that if I refused to abide by their requests I'd get in legal trouble?
