My school doesn't send first quarter senior year grades to colleges unless the college requests it. Is this fairly often, or is it only in major on the fence situations?

Our counselor says most colleges call for mid year grades for candidates they want to accept.

what about early colleges? They give a decision by december. I know that all colleges see mid year grades though. I’m talking about just first quarter.

It depends on the schools. Duke and Vassar, for example, require first quarter grades; Brown will request them if they’re interested.

what about colleges like cornell, uchicago, and notre dame?

From what I hear they all seek the latest grades for ED candidates before accepting a student. They want to make sure there’s no senioritis.
