How often do scoring mistakes happen?

My ACT score is about four points lower than what I usually get on practice tests. I have taken the most recent practice tests out and the ACT red book. Should I order a hand score or just retake in October? I am a senior.

My biggest difference in scores is my reading section which I did five points lower than I normally do. I am so sad, and I am so sorry if I seem like I can’t take the reality of my score. I just can’t help but think there is some sort of mistake. I know there is always a chance of test overconfidence in which your score doesn’t reflect what you really think you got. I just need some advice. Thanks.

Let me know if anyone else has had experience with hand scoring.

I have been studying for over 2 months. I have studied for at least 40 hrs… what could have gone wrong? I am already signed up for October.

I am sorry your score went down.

I have never seen a case where the hand scoring changed the student’s score.

Could you have made a bubbling error on the reading section? It is possible. But hand scoring will not change that.

I think your best bet is to take the October and study with a focus on Reading.
