ya with cannabis, you just have to be smart about your consumption, you're brain's still developing, so don't overload it with our wonderful drug of choice THC.

i keep it to the weekends, or when i don't have much to do or a test that week. other than that it's SOOOO much safer than alcohol....what a wonderful herb. it grew on king solomon's grave mon, it's the wisdom weed, healin' of the nations.

I read it the first time, and I told you what my problem is with it.

Until you understand what I'm saying and/or discuss why what I'm saying doesn't make sense to you instead of reposting the same statement over and over, it's pointless for me to say anything else about it.

I'm going to have to go with atomicfusion on this one. It really is all about time management if you think about it. Of course, you have to be smart enough to work alcohol into your schedule, which can be a challenge in itself.

is MIT really that bad? do they kick you out if you get a C or something?
[/quote]

Yes. You get kicked out if you get anything below a B+.

rolls eyes Stop talking about things you know nothing about. People who get non-stellar grades don't get kicked out. People with bad grades get warning/probations/whatever like everybody else. -_-

I haven't touched alcohol in three-and-a-half years. Granted, I used to be a raging alcoholic. You kids better watch out or you'll be boring by your mid-twenties like me.

Until you understand what I'm saying and/or discuss why what I'm saying doesn't make sense to you instead of reposting the same statement over and over, it's pointless for me to say anything else about it.

Unwarranted arrogance aside, it's obvious that you either didn't understand what I was asking, or you're simply confused and forgetful.

Here, I'll type it out again, carefully, slowly. Tell. me. what. you. think. is. wrong. with. this. statement;

"A GED several decades ago is equal to a run-of-the-mill BA today.

More people than ever are attending colleges, and the job market is considerably smaller, with so many American jobs being exported to Asia.

Doesn't mean that someone with that degree can't rise to the top through either connections or hard work and ingenuity, but the statement is perfectly valid."

"A BA from a non elite school is about equivalent to a GED these days."

"A GED several decades ago is equal to a run-of-the-mill BA today."

That's what is wrong with it. You changed it. He means a BA from TODAY is equivalent to a GED from TODAY. He is implying that the significance of a BA has gone down significantly, making those of us who merely graduate from four year institution of higher learning roughly equivalent to those who don't graduate from college.

dude, seriously as long as you manage yourself properly you can not only be a pothead (the smartest kid I know at one point smoked 3 times a day for a solid month, he stopped because he started feeling hazy during classes), but be a full blown alcoholic without compromising your grades (the pothead has a 5.0 still, MIT is on the 5.0 scale, the two heaviest drinkers I know have 4.8+).

As long as you don't do it when you have other **** to do or anything you'll be fine. People just take certain examples to the extreme, and pretend like if you touch the stuff you'll immediately see a drop in GPA. Seriously, not even remotely true in most cases.

No, I'm almost positive that's not what wutang meant at all. I mean, give the guy credit; he's very opinionated, and I don't necessarily agree with everything he wrote, but most of his conclusions are logical.

Certainly, it's ridiculous to think that a BA today is the same as a GED today, considering the former is superior to the latter, but let's face it; education levels and expectations have changed tremendously over the past few decades, and I've personally known many people with BAs from excellent schools (Berkeley, Duke, UCLA etc.) who had an insanely difficult time finding work after graduation.

I'm annoyed because all you seem to be able to do is copy and paste the same thing over and over without answering to a single thing I've posted.

Which is why I'm done. I don't agree with what you've posted at all, so there. That's all there is to it.

When you can't actually respond with a cogent argument, the strategy of choice is to say "I'm done" and run away.

The reason I copy and paste is because you have yet to actually respond to what I wrote, which means you either ignore or misunderstand its meaning.

Here, one last time, just for you;

If someone doesn't agree with your argument, it really doesn't make sense to just copy and paste the same exact thing over and over again. She said she's done, so just let it go.

I have imbibed (as in, drinking in a party situation, not glasses of wine at dinner) twice and gotten drunk once. Quite honestly, it was not my thing and I don't plan on repeating the drunkeness. I really doubt I could function at full potential and I didn't like the feeling all that much.

I know many people who can handle intoxicated partying and still get good grades. But I know many more people who think they can handle intoxicated partying when they really can't.
