I have two questions...
1. How often does every body read, like...how many books/week or year.
2. What books do you recommend to read for college?

two books/yr if that. i hate reading.

I probably read about 4 nights a week when im busy... sometimes 6 nights or so a week... but its pretty casual so it normally takes me 2 to 3 weeks to finish the books im reading for fun.

recommendations depend on what you like... but here are a couple of my favorites:

-Slaughterhouse Five (Kurt Vonnegut)
-Animal Farm (George Orwell)
-Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (Hunter S. Thomas)
-Native Son (Richard Wright)
-Cat's Cradle (Kurt Vonnegut)
-Lies and the Lying Liars who Tell Them (Al Franken)
-What's the Matter with Kansas

...I could go on.

Woot, DrumnDukie.

I read almost every night (unless I'm dead tired) but it's usually just for relaxation. What you read depends really on what interests you. There's a bunch of genres out there and something has to catch your eye at one time or another.

I like horrors and sci-fi and I'm a fan of Stephen King, Anne Rice and Laurell K. Hamilton. Oh, and let's not forget George Lucas.

Yeah but don't really have the time with so much work, over the summer I read like 15 books, have read two during the year and its now the end...

i go on binge reading sprees when i stumble upon a good book... but i dont read regularly

i prolly read around 4~5 books a year for leisure, but most books are read in like a couple of days

I write way more than I read. Unless I find a really good book, don't expect me to read in my spare time--maybe 1 or 2 books each year. I can take them out pretty quickly though (two weeks is average for me).

If you mean the newspaper, well I read that daily. As far as textbooks, no, I usually don't read straight through. I go through, find what might be test material, make a practice test and/or a study guide, and go from there.

i finish a book every week. maybe a more intense book would take 2 weeks. reading is good.

I read at least one hour a day. I read ~5 books a week... sometimes 15+ if I have nothing better to do (like, you know, study). When I had back surgery over winter break and couldn't do anything BUT read, I read 50 books in 3 weeks. I'm a fast reader.

Don't read anything "for college." Read what you want because you want to, and your reading skills will improve on their own--and you'll be a lot happier. If you want to get into classic literature, read one classic in between a bunch of lighter reads (mysteries, romances, etc). Try to savor every word.

Some books I read recently that were particularly good include What's Eating Gilbert Grape by Peter Hodges, The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway, To Say Nothing of The Dog by Connie Willis, and Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K. Jerome.

depends. during the school year i read for pleasure very rarely. in the summer i usually read several books a month.

I read every day, although I didn't have as much time to do so as I originally thought. I finish about 10-20 books a month during the school year. Over the summer, I've been averaging about a book or two a day.

woah! one to two per day! dude, you are my reading hero.

I read really fast even in a casual setting but during the school year I do not get to read that much outside school work. With that said, I read about 60 books a year but I think about 30 of them are during the summer. I am a freak because I have to read a really good bok in one or two sittings. I devour them so I will take all night to read one book. For instance, I read the Harry Potter 6 in five hours but i read it from midnight to five in the morning. I have only read two books this summer but it took me three days to read both. With so many books, I doubt I can bring it down to list of what to read.

I never read anything, if I have to read something for school I just use pinkmonkey or sparknotes.

I like reading but I don't have that much time during the school year to do it. In the summer I usually have more time, but I'm also taking classes this summer so I won't have as much time as I usually do.

I'm surprised at how many people read on a regular basis. The only things I read are the school newspaper and textbooks for classes. Reading is not for fun haha

I don't read as often as I should, but I like reading. I usually enjoy the novels I read. I like to read the campus newspaper and USA Today when I can too. I hate reading textbooks though. I only like reading what I find interesting, not what I am made to read.
