I’m a junior in high school. My physics teacher just agreed to write me a letter of recommendation last Monday after I asked in person, and I just sent her an email saying thank you/telling her not to rush because college application deadlines are far off. (I’m no longer in her class this semester, so it’s hard to catch her in person.) However, I just came across a Columbia University college credit program that lets high school students take college-level courses. The [url = <a href=“http://sps.columbia.edu/highschool/college-credit/admissions/apply%5Dapplication”>http://sps.columbia.edu/highschool/college-credit/admissions/apply]application process is pretty demanding and I’m not 100% sure I’ll get in-- among the requirements are two recommendation letters, one from your counselor and one from a teacher. I just found out about this program, but the deadline is April 1.
Should I ask my physics teacher for another recommendation? I’m aiming to take a statistics course so while I could ask my history teacher, I’m not sure if that will help. I don’t even know that I’ll get into the program, and I’m worried that I might find other programs that require recs, and ask her for one too many times. Plus, a two-week deadline is pretty tight. Thoughts?
