i was 14 when i first joined CC. i first browsed the main cc site for a month or so before i started posting. I wish i could have discovered cc when i was 12. :p but that would probably have made me angrier at my school (if that was possible), and im not sure if anyone would have advised me to drop out to homeschool myself (as per my "ideal" plan :p)

Pfft, not old enough. I was a sophomore (15) when I made this account.

Same, AeroEngineer3141

15, sophomore.
wish I knew about cc when i was a freshman

in 2008. same as ^, wish i knew about CC earlier.

I started reading freshmen year. Got an account around 14 (2005). I am 19 now.

I started reading/joined (same time ish) when I was 17 or perhaps when I was 16 about to turn 17. Who knows. Yeah 16.

Apparently when I was almost 16, but I never really posted until I was 17

I joined CC 13 days after my 17th birthday. I probably first read CC a few days before that.

I joined…at age 13, I believe. But that was because I applied to prep school. I didn’t really look at CC again after secondary school admissions until this summer, right before junior year started.

Well, let’s see. I joined in February 2008. So that’s…sophomore year, I guess. I might have started reading at the beginning of sophomore year.

Hold on…I’ll tell you in one sec.

EDIT: Apparently I joined this past June which makes it the end of sophomore year. But I definitely started reading early soph. :)

I started reading CC at 14… joined at 15 =) I am still 15… xD

glad I joined as a freshie =) but it’s odd b/c lots of people tell me to get off… even though lots more wished they knew about it at my age… haha ^.^

I joined Dec 08 when I was 13. Now I’m 14 :)

I understand where people are coming from when they say that a freshman or a sophomore shouldn’t contribute to admissions-related conversationg, or doesn’t need to make a chance-me thread. But it’s good to know what colleges look for regarding GPA, ECs, etc. . . Also, sophomores and sometimes freshman take AP classes and SAT II’s. CC is a good way to see what they playing field is, and that’s important before you are a junior applying to college, so you don’t have to make any “Help! I have no ECs!” thread. I’ve found that since I started reading CC I know so much about college and applications than I did before, and it’s good knowledge, especially since my parents didn’t go to undergrad in the US.

This is one example of where knowing about GPA is useful. I have a friend in 8th grade in very advanced math classes with a terrible teacher. Her grades are rather low, but she is an excellent student otherwise. These grades are going to be on her transcript, and are used to calculate her GPA, so that is something she should be aware of.

Before CC, I didn’t realize how important excellent grades are, or how to do ECs, importance of leadership, etc. . . .It’s good to have the examples and help CC gives from a younger age, like 14/15, not just when you’re 17.

16 when I joined. 17 when I started posting a lot.

Reading at 13. Joined at 14. Now I feel crazy. It was probably too early.

:O are you younger than me/not a senior ???

^Are you referring to me? If so, then yes I’m actually a junior lulz

My parents read me CC posts while I was in the womb, not quite a blastocyte. I am hoping to get into weeHYPSMC-just got to get potty trained down cold.
