is UMich to exploring your sexuality and orientation and all that? Awkward question, I know. But its definitely something I want to be able to do in college without being judged. Thanks.

Wow. Gotta love the anonymity of the internet, eh? Haha.

Well, there are always gonna be judgmental people, but U of M has one of the most progressive campuses in the country, so I’d imagine they would be. Although, hypocrisy wouldn’t surprise me one bit. I’ve heard plenty of cases where African-Americans attend because of their striving for diversity who end up being discriminated against by students, so you never know.

Two words: Alice Lloyd

I have several gay friends at Michigan who thus far have been very comfortable. While there are judgmental people everywhere you go, Michigan and Ann Arbor itself are pretty liberal places and I imagine you should be able to find a very comfortable community for yourself here.

Thanks. While I identify as straight, I do want to try new things in college. It sounds like Michigan will be just as good as any other place for that.
