You have no doubt noticed that we have stories featured on our community home page as well as at the top of each individual forum. When our moderators spot a good thread - timely news, perhaps, or a good discussion of an important topic - they can feature the thread in either the individual forum or on the home page.
These threads don’t go away - they scroll into the library for that forum (accessed by the link right under the current headlines).
We depend on our members to help spot these useful topics. In each thread (under Thread Tools) there is a “Recommend” link. If you spot a thread you think should be highlighted and preserved, click that link from within the thread to let us know. This is particularly useful in individual college forums where access to good discussions will be helpful to new visitors.
The recommend link was sending recommendations out into cyberspace (or outer space) for a while and we weren’t seeing them - I apologize if you recommended something and it didn’t happen. We weren’t ignoring you! That function is now working properly, so you can be sure your recommendation will be read. Thanks for your help!
