How, precisely, does one enroll?

I don't have my FAT packet so I have no way of knowing the specifics.

I've sent in my 600 dollar deposit on the website, as well as submitted the online enrollment form that you fill as you pay the money.

But that's all I've done. Do you need to send in other papers, such as a final financial report, a final official transcript of the last sem, medical papers, or anything of that sort?

Can someone also enumerate the different items one gets along with the fat packet? Like, one by one?

Thanks in advance.

The FAT package is basically a “book.” You have your letter that says “congrats blah blah” on where you were accepted and how you’re a good student.

The book has 4 sections: April visit, Campus life, Pittsburgh, and Enrollment Info.

April Visit:

There are events on the 6,7,8,9,13,14,15,20,21,22,23,24,27,28,29 and 30.
Each department has an info session/open house (various subjects lie chem, philosophy, psychology, and then the particular “schools” (scs, cit, etc.) have sessions/tours.

Campus life:

housing, dining, student life, and campus traditions - you can find all this out and more online really.

Pittsburgh:

Same, you can find it all online. Except there’s a map showing various spots in Pittsburgh, “hot spots” I suppose.

Enrollment:

There’s a sheet of alumni accounts and experiences, and then one about orientation which is August 16-23. And also, there’s a form about health insurance.

That’s pretty much it. Nothing very special, lol.

Also, I think that’s all you need to do to enroll online.

You can go to <a href=“Home - Computing Services - Office of the CIO - Carnegie Mellon University”>Home - Computing Services - Office of the CIO - Carnegie Mellon University; to get the information (under “Our site your perspective” and click any of those links for further information).

Thanks Anna…you’re very comprehensive =D

But…question:

If you go to the website you mentioned in your post above, and click on “Now that I’m enrolling” (The link), and put in your information, and then once you enter the acis.cmu website, go to the ‘forms’ link on the top right hand corner…there’s a whole bunch of forms there. Do you need to send all those in to formally enroll?

help? :S:S 10char

You’re enrolled once your deposit has been received. You can submit the deposit online. The rest of the forms need to be submitted by the first of May.

Hey wait POPKING, is there a deadline for those forms? I though there wasn’t one, but it’d be good to send it ASAP anyway because it was needed for CMU to send the I-20 visa certificate…

Yeah there is a deadline; I checked it out after seeing the other thread on the deposit and what not. At least for international students those forms need to be postmarked the 1st of May. You can login to the ‘Now that I’m enrolled’ site once your deposit is received.

I think there IS a deadline, but I don’t think it’s the first of May.

POPKING, can you give us a website source please? Also, if you can, a list of the exact forms?

Thanks.

The above link should be helpful. There is also the FAQ page:

I doubt you’ll be able to get the forms on the website, but you should check anyway since you haven’t received your admission letter. You should contact the admissions office and ask them to fax or email the forms to you.

The International Student Information Form

Affidavit of Financial Support along with original supporting financial documents (see below for acceptable documentation)

I’ve gotten these online from the websit, but I’m worried about the acceptance of admission form. Is it okay if I not submit it, but have already submitted the form online along with the $600 deposit?

Thanks. Doesn’t mention the May 1st deadline anywhere, though.
