How Prestigious are the Honors Programs at UMiami?

Hi all!

I was accepted into both the University Honors Program (UHP) and the University Academic Scholars Program (UASP). How selective, prestigious, and impressive are these programs? Are the benefits noticeable? Are these students singled out on a day-to-day basis, or is it more of a title? Is there a degree of separation between honors students and other students?

I am trying to compare Miami’s honors programs to the University of South Carolina Honors College and the Rutgers Honors College, if that makes a difference in your response.
