How prevalent are study/smart pills in High School?

I read a lot of articles about ADHD medication being widespread in college (Including the College Life topic about it), but what about in high school?

Can't help but feel a little jealousy to those taking it. I'm wondering if any of my own peers use it academically.

I know pill poppers, but I don’t know the pills they pop. They certainly aren’t smart.

I know one guy that uses it, but he is not the kind of student you would be looking up to.

Yeah I don’t think anyone is using them illegally to get smart…if they seriously have ADHD they can’t get it themselves from the doctor. The only morons who DO get this crap illegally is so they can get high off it.

I did some research on Adderall the other day…seems to be effective for straight-out memorization studying, and not much else. After looking at the side effects - well, this is something you wouldn’t want to OD.

^^“seriously have ADHD”. That’s not possible. It’s hard to diagnose ADHD.

High school? Didn’t hear much about it. (Then again, we lived in the middle of nowhere.)

Here in college? Several people I know use Aderall to cram for finals. . .

I never even heard of this until I saw the the featured thread on College Life.

It was shocking to me that these are so available (In the library, dorms)
