I'd like to apply ED to NYU and have been following the posts on their Admissions Bulletin Board. With 34,000 applications how fast to they review them? What's the best approach? (Besides not ****ing them off by not following the directions?) Thanks!

i was recently accepted to NYU-CAS with 1350, 3.9 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and excellent extracurricular activities and great recommendations. Hope that gives you an idea of how selective it is. good luck!

I wasn't accepted to CAS but offered admission to GSP, the General Studies Program, with a 1310, 3.8 UW GPA. Hot' kydato popal.

Do you think you will attend NYU through that program? I heard several people with that offer, and because it is guaranteed transfer to CAS, i think it's worth it, especially NYU is one of your top choices.

Well I still have schools to hear from, but I'll probably enter into the program. The only aspect of it that frustrates me are mandatory courses for the first year and a half. Although all NYU undergrads have to take these courses, it's still quite binding. And there's the 3.0 you need to maintain to be guaranteed admission into CAS, which shouldn't be that tough. Are you definitely going or are you also waiting to hear from some more schools?

Do you live in NY? I am still waiting to hear from Columbia and Princeton, although I don't think that I stand a chance to those schools. If not, then NYU is my top choice. GSP sounds like a great idea to enter the school; regardless of the program is initially, you still graduate NYU.

No, I live in Maryland. But yeah I'm still waiting to hear back, mainly from Gtown, Cornell, Emory, and BC. Haha, well at least I got into GSP. Congrats to you btw :). Are you in anywhere else?

Yes, I was offered admission to two New York State schools, Penn State-University Park, and two pharmacy schools. I was thinking about pharmacology when I applied to colleges but now I am reconsidering and trying to define my priorities. Since you live in Maryland, did you apply to University of Maryland-College Park?
Good Luck!

I got into GSP, too with a 1320 SAT (690v / 630m), 4.0WGPA, various EC's, etc.... as long as it's financially possible, I'll probably go. What are you all planning to major in whne you get into CAS?

haha Correct, I got my acceptance letter last week. But since I'm a so called procrastinator and waited till January 20th to send my application, I wasn't considered for Honors. Not that I really care too much, it's all the same in the end. I was thinking about either majoring in International Relations, doing Pre-Med for opthalmology, or actually Ergonomics. What happened to pharmacology?

I am still considering it, and I was accepted to Rutgers University-Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy and Long Island University College of Pharmacy. I don't know if you are familiar with these names. Rutgers is a competative pharmacy school, but I am not very hesitant if that's what I want to do, especially after being accepted to NYU. It's a difficult choice-I've always been undecided about my major. And now I am totally in between a liberal arts school and a pharmacy degree.

I'm GSP too, will go to NYU despite the cost. Manhattan + Olsen Sisters, oh yeah!

Well just my opinion, but if NYU has pharmacy related classes or even a major I'd recommend going there. You have plenty of time to excel in any one field, and what if pharmaceuticals turn out to be something completely different than what you expected, you could be stuck at Rutgers or Long Island, wheras at NYU you have a broad range of career paths and much to explore.

NYU doesn't have pharmacy stuff.

pharm at RU is topnotch . If you wanna do that, go there. If u want a liberal arts education, go to NYU

They have opportunities for pursuits in pharmacy, so they're bound to have courses on pharmaceuticals. And if you're not sure, attend the better school, and there's always Graduate.

did you apply for fall 2005? if so, was ED? cause i haven't heard back yet.

Smandel,

Those are research fellowships..mostly at the post-doctorate level, not undergrad programs....that NYU does not have in pharmacy.

Yeah anyone non-ED hear back from Stern? I thought decisions weren't until late march

No goldplatinum, thus far, the only people who have heard are GSP.

RD for CAS, Stern, etc. hear in late March/early April.
