How realistic is my list?

Hi everyone,

I was hoping to get some input as to how realistic my list of colleges is as well as some suggestions for good matches. I'm mainly looking into urban/metro northeastern colleges w/ strong English and Journalism departments. My GPA uw is 3.5, wght is 4.3..SAT not yet taken/PSAT around 1100...Extracurriculars decent…good course load (all honors, about 8 AP's total)...

Safety
Pace University
Marymount Manhattan College
Temple University

Matches
Clark University???

Slight Reach
Northeastern

Reach
Fordham
Emerson College

Super Reach
NYU

So, that is the list as of now...As you can see its not very balanced...too many reaches and safeties (which I will narrow down event.) and not enough matches..

If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks :D

Oh yeah...I forgot to add...if anyone has any info. on Clark University, please share, b/c I am a little confused as to where it should rank on my list. The Princeton Review gives it a selectivity rating of 94 out of 99 which roughly matches the selectivity of my reach schools. However, Clark's avg. GPA 3.4 and avg. SAT around 1100 match my stats...?? I really don't know where it would fit on my list..

Northeastern University wouldn't be a slight reach... it's like a target or bordeline safety.

Thanks for your response. Hmm..I really wasn't sure about Northeastern because their avg. SAT is higher than mine is..

Anyone else have any advice?

kndm--

Are you from the northeast? If so, you'll be competing against all the kids from the region who want to go to those same schools.

That said, Clark is a safety for you considering your stats. It has a program where if you decide to stay for graduate school after commencement, the tuition's free.

Thank you for your reply. No, I am not from the northeast actually..I am from Florida.

That's very interesting about Clark..b/c I am deff. interested in going on to graduate school..thanks for the information
