How relevant is Freshman year in high school when applying to Emerson?

Emerson is my first choice for college. I was just wondering about the impact that Freshman year has on your admission. Say, if your GPA in your first year of high school is 3.333, but after that, you improve it during the rest of your three high school years, will that have an impact on your acceptance?

If this information could help at all, I plan to major in Film (if available) or Psychology in college.

Most colleges and universities focus more on your grades sophomore and junior years, so your freshman ones don’t really affect their decision (except maybe if it is all D’s and F’s). But if you plan to bring up your GPA, then you’re good, Emerson, in my opinion, focuses more on your interest in the school and what you can bring to the table based on your extracurriculars, recommendations and the like. Good luck!
